How To

How to Act on Your First Date

Your first date should be fun. You want to enjoy your first date. So how do you make this happen?

First, remember that you don't need to know everything about someone immediately. You don't have to know all about his hobbies or interests. That doesn't mean he isn't interested in those topics. Even if you don’t know everything, that doesn’t mean you won’t love spending time with him.

Second, be lighthearted. Do not take yourself too seriously. Relax if you feel nervous. This is supposed to be fun!

Third, have a conversation about mutual interests. Ask your partner what their hobbies are. You should learn as much as you can about each other.

Fourth, be attentive to what he is saying. Pay attention how he speaks. Notice whether he uses words such as "I" or "you." Also notice whether he speaks quickly or slowly. You can listen for clues as to how he feels about others and himself.

Fifth, you can ask open-ended queries. Questions that you both must answer. For example, instead of asking, "What kind of music do you like?" Ask, "Do you prefer classical music or rock/pop?"

Sixth, pay close attention to body language. Pay attention to signs that he loves you. Pay attention to how he holds his hands while speaking to you. Do you see any hand gestures? Do you feel comfortable around him? Are you smiling? These are all good indicators that he likes you.

Seventh: Watch out for signs that he doesn’t want you. These signs are important. Is he sensitive to touch? What happens if you look into his eyes and touch him?

If you feel that the person is attractive, kiss him. You can start kissing him immediately.

If you don't like him, tell him so. Tell him that you think there's no future between you two.

If you can't bear the thought of him dating you, tell him so. Tell him you're not his type. You might prefer spending your time with someone who shares some of your interests.

You might also consider telling him that you've met someone else.

You might even say that you feel sorry about him. He most likely has good qualities, but has yet to find someone special.

This would be a wonderful thing to do.
